Sure, table numbers serve a (very important) functional purpose at any wedding, but that doesn’t mean they can’t also serve as a fun decor moment. There’s no shortage of ways to make your table numbers stand out.
One easy place to start? Consider the theme of your wedding, suggests Megan Estrada, CEO of NSWE Events. “If your wedding is in a countryside or barn, consider painting your table numbers onto something rustic, such as a cowbell or birch bark. Going tropical? Table numbers painted onto a monstera leaf will carry your theme in an elegant and eco-friendly way,” she says.
Here’s the other thing: Table numbers don’t have to be numbered, per se. You can also name tables after favorite songs, books, and even cities you’ve visited together. But, no matter which direction you go, remember that visibility is paramount. It’s very important that your guests can see and read the table numbers, notes Estrada.

Looking to incorporate a little more color into your table design? Opt for these vibrant, watercolor-inspired table numbers (which come in four color palettes). In true Minted fashion, you can also shop from the accompanying suite of other day-of stationery—think place cards, menus, and wedding programs—to keep everything cohesive.
Acrylic table numbers are ideal if you want the actual sign itself to seemingly disappear amidst the rest of your table decor. These are made of heavy-duty acrylic material, and you can customize not only the background color but also the lettering of the table number itself (there are over 50 shades to choose from). They can also be purchased either with or without a stand, depending on how you want to use them.
If you want to display table numbers with a unique format, consider these 3D wire options. Unlike any other type of card or signage, they’re sure to stand out and are also easy to decorate with flowers and candles.
If simplicity is the name of the game for your wedding, you can’t go wrong with this timeless pick. The black font is sophisticated and easy to read and will mesh seamlessly into any decor. Plus, they conveniently come in packs of 10.
Get the conversation going among all of your guests with these fun, interactive table numbers. Each one can be personalized with a cute fact about the bride and groom. If you want to take it up a notch, turn the table number facts into a trivia game with prizes.
Another choice acrylic option, the hexagon shape of these markers adds visual interest, and they have the added benefit of coming with an included stand. You can also get them via Amazon Prime, which is ideal if you’re in a bit of a time crunch.
These printed leaves are begging to be used for a tropical destination wedding (not to mention, they're a great eco-friendly alternative to paper). Consider setting them into a tall vase to make them easily visible to your guests.
Perfect for a more rustic wedding, these wooden table numbers are simple yet versatile. They’re also a good affordable option since you get a whole set of 12, rather than having to purchase them individually.
One fun way to add a personal touch to your wedding table numbers? Incorporate a photo of the two of you onto each one. (Consider it the perfect way to use all of those engagement photos.) This digital, downloadable template makes it easy to do exactly that, as well as customize them with your names and wedding date. Then print them out, pop them into a frame or stand, and you’re good to go.
If your wedding is rife with old-school, romantic touches, these table numbers will work perfectly. Inspired by vintage postcards, they do look like something fresh out of your grandmother’s attic. Consider setting them in antique frames to further play off the vintage vibes.
Prefer that your table numbers not be, well, numbers? Here’s a good alternative. These signs can be customized to spell out anything you want. A few ideas: Some of your favorite places you’ve traveled, neighborhoods in the city you live in, top date spots…the options are endless.
Minimalistic and graphic, the bold font on these table numbers is clear and easy to read. Foil detailing (there are eight colors to choose from) adds a touch of elegance, and these are available either as flat or folded cards.
For couples trying to be more sustainable and minimize individual print-outs, this combination table number and menu is a nice pick. A combo of acrylic and gold mirror materials makes it look sophisticated and special, while the unique shape will make it stand out on the table.
The wooden base gives these a rustic touch, while the white calligraphy still keeps these table numbers feeling elegant and wedding-appropriate. They are slightly smaller in size—5.5 inches by 4 inches—so they are best for smaller tables or ones with more minimal centerpieces where they won’t get lost and still be easy for your guests to spot.
These aptly-named cards give off glamorous, Art Deco vibes, from the black and gold color motif to the geometric design along the border. Also nice: They can be oriented either horizontally or vertically.
We guarantee your guests have never seen table numbers quite like these. Featuring wooden numbers attached to real Portuguese ceramic tiles, they work equally well set in a small easel or leaned against another part of your tablescape, next to a vase, up to a stack of books. Choose from seven different graphic patterns.
The subtle floral print on these truly makes them more akin to a work of art than a basic table number. There are six color themes to choose from, making it easy to find the one that best complements your actual florals and table decor, and you can also purchase coordinating stands or frames.
According to Estrada, your table numbers shouldn’t be so dramatic that they compete with the table decor; rather, the goal should be to find something that complements the tablescape without distracting from the centerpieces, she says.
“It won’t matter how pretty the table numbers are if they’re causing a traffic jam as people are having a hard time finding their tables and getting frustrated,” Estrada points out. “It’s important that guests can both see and read them.”
“Most venues provide 60-inch or 72-inch round tables, which accommodate eight or 10 people comfortably,” Estrada says. This number is ideal for round tables, as it’s both physically comfortable and has enough people to talk to throughout the evening without it being chaotic, she says.
Estrada says printing names and table numbers on individual escort cards makes it easier for guests to find their names, as opposed to having to scan through and find their info on one poster board. “By displaying the escort cards alphabetically in an easily accessible area that all guests will naturally pass by during the flow of the event, you ensure that guests won’t miss them. And by setting the tables in consecutive order in the room, guests should easily find their assigned table,” she explains.
