Ingrid Nickelsen Trust Juried Exhibition: Celebrating 15 Years of Ingrid Nickelsen’s Legacy
This exhibition, the first all-women juried exhibition at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, pays homage to Ingrid Nickelsen and to the legacy she created in support of women artists in Humboldt County. View works by Humboldt County Women Artists selected by Juror Joan Gold . The Trust will be awarding six thousand dollars in prize money to artists participating in the juried show during an awards ceremony prior to Arts Alive on Saturday, August 6, at 5:30 pm.

Explore the vibrant landscapes of Ingrid Nickelsen on loan from private collections. Paired with selected sculptures and pottery, this exhibition highlights the influence the local environment had on Ingrid Nickelsen’s work and how she transferred that beauty onto canvases saturated with color to portray the power of nature.

View intimate and powerful sketches and drawings created during Ingrid Nickelsens’s explorations in the local wilderness paired with excerpts of her writing on art and nature.
M useum Store/Permanent Collection Gallery
Visit the Museum Store for a selection of gifts and merchandise inspired by the artwork on view by Morris Graves, Glenn Berry, Melvin Schuler and Romano Gabriel. The Museum Store carries a wide selection of posters, contemporary art books, cards, exhibition catalogs, children’s books, note pads, tote bags, jewelry, wine glasses, and coffee mugs. Humboldt Arts Council Members receive a 10% discount on all merchandise in the store.

Venture into the Humboldt Artist Gallery in the Morris Graves Museum of Art—the perfect place to find that unique, original gift. The gallery features many exceptional Humboldt County artists currently working in our region. Designed as an artist cooperative, the gallery features local artists working in a variety of media from representational and abstract paintings, prints, jewelry, photographs, and ceramics.
The Morris Graves Museum of Art, located at 636 F Street, Eureka is open to the public noon-5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults; $2 for seniors (age 65 and over), military veterans, and students with ID; children 17 and under free; Families with an EBT Card and valid ID receive free admission through the Museums for All initiative, Museum members are free. Admission is always free for everyone on the first Saturday of every month, including First Saturday Night Arts Alive!, 6-9 p.m.
To ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors we recommend that guests continue to wear masks inside the Morris Graves Museum of Art.
